I noticed when downloading a file that the browser did not know how long it was going to take to finish.

I think there are a couple of problems in common utilities FileSystemUtils.vb Shared Function DownloadFile(...

instead of:

objResponse.AppendHeader("Content-Length", objFile.Size.ToString())

better:

objResponse.AppendHeader("Content-Length", objFile.Length.ToString())

 

instead of:

objResponse.End()

better:

objResponse.Clear()

Fred that is definitely something interesting, you might try adding this as an issue on http://support.dotnetnuke.com so that it can be looked at and possibly included in a future release.

sure: DNN-11957 - downloading content-length missing
and maybe even better to use lowercase:
objResponse.AppendHeader("content-length", objFile.Length.ToString())
