I have a large DNN test site here on my local machine running DNN v.5.02.02. I am trying to upgrade the Reports Module to 5.01 to fix an error with updating the search index. The install keeps failing and I can't make sense of why.

In the error report it says access to my bin directory is denied, but I have NETWORK SERVICE account all set up, and I've had no other permissions errors. I just installed Engage F3 module yesterday with no trouble.

 

Here is the exact error report in case anyone can help me out:

Failure Exception - Access to the path 'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\mywebsite\bin\DotNetNuke.Modules.Reports.dll' is denied.
Failure Installation Failed - Assembly

If I try reinstalling the module, I receive this error instead:

Failure Installation Failed - ResourceFile

It continues on with this cycle of the two errors when I try to reinstall. Any idea what's causing this or how to fix?

What happens if you manually try to delete that DLL then install again?

I deleted the DotNetNuke.Modules.Reports.dll, and tried reinstalling without success. I keep getting this error message:

Failure Installation Failed - ResourceFile

I successfully installed the Reports module .zip package on the production site, so I think it's safe to assume it was not an error with the original download or the package itself.

Any ideas?
