Hey All,

I'm having issues installing a skin and container package. I'm using the "Install extension wizard" and have all my files ziped (see structure below). I keep getting an error that the .dnn file isn't found (see error below). I'm on DNN version 5.2.3

A critical error has occurred.
Could not find file 'C:\serve\www\www.etr.org\Install\Temp\lbf04n5g\TTPI.dnn'.

The structure of the package is as follows:

  • images (directory - containing all the images)
  • base.css
  • Skin.htm
  • Skin.xml
  • Standard.htm (container file)
  • TTPI.dnn

The TTPI.dnn file is as follows:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

 I just had this problem so I'll take a stab at your issue: are you putting the files in a folder and then zipping it or all files independently? If you are putting them in the folder it is interrupting the read, see if that fixes it.

Kieren, my initial guess is a NTFS permissions problem on the server for the install directory subfolders. On another note, might want to remove the Thumbs.db from your .dnn file.

Just to mention it may be useful for somebody - your suggestion solved my problem. I was putting the files in a folder and then zipping the folder and the same critical error occurred. I read this post and zipped the files independently and then it worked all. Thanks!
