I've got an ongoing problem when I try to upgrade my text/html module. I orginally posted this under the repository module forum because I thought that was the module giving me problems. So far, I was told (by looking at error messages) to remove the app_code/html folder then remove from the web.config <add directory = "html"/>

Now my website is up but every place I have a text/html module the following error appears when I'm logged in a host

An error has occurred.
Error: Text/HTML is currently unavailable.

When I'm logged in as admin it says this:

Error: Text/HTML is currently unavailable.

it looks like you are missing proper version of web.controls. Which DNN version are you running? Re-unzip upgrade package to make sure, all files are updated.

I'm running version 04.03.07. When I load the module, it says the install was successful. I'm not sure what you mean about make sure all files are updated. I apologize, I'm a novice at this.

I had my host provider do an upgrade to 04.08.04. I'm now getting another error where all my Text/html modules were. Any help would be great.

Latest version of Text/HTML module require appropriate version of DotNetNuke framework. Always check prerequisites, there have been issues with version dependencies before DNN 4.9.0, and version checks have been turned off completely for some package types in DNN 5. If you downloaded version 4.8.1 of the module, it should work fine with DNN 4.8.4 - you might need to remove dotnetnuke.modules.html.dll and dotnetnuke.modules.html.sqldataprovider.dll frim /bin folder. However, this version is known for having security issues and you should upgrade to DNN 4.9.5 immediately to get protected (and may upgrade to DNN 5 subsequently, but that will be another challenge). For now, please check the version number in the name of the Text/HTML package installed, if it is 4.8.1, you are on the right trail, if it is 4.9.5, upgrade to latest DNN 4 version (4.9.5), you may download from dotnetnuke.codeplex.com. This upgrade shall be rather easy, just unzipping the files into the dnn installation folder (after backing up all files and database).

Sebastian Leupold
