  1. Browse to the page that your blog is on
  2. Make sure you are in Edit mode
  3. Look for the blog module that has "Create my blog," "Blog Settings," and "Add New Entry" in red.
  4. Click the settings button, or select "Settings" from the action menu, which is usually at the top-left corner of all modules.
  5. In the permissions setting, add Edit permissions to the new user that you want to be able to add posts.  Be careful who (or what groups) you add!

Hope that helps.

I've given module edit permissions to administrators and when they post an entry to the blog the entry shows that the host created it, instead of showing the name of the administrator.

My thoughts on this blog module were initially optimistic but the more I use it the more I think it lacks needed features (compared to other blogging solutions).

This module doesn't do anything really that great. I realize it's free, but does anyone know of a better blogging solution than this?

Yes Kelly, there are several possible solution.... one of which is to build YOUR OWN.

Another solution, might be to provide a little more information, coated with a little more courtesy in your tone so that we can make an effort to help you out.

The blog module is a very functional solution and satisfies the requirements of the majority of users.  It's perfectly valid to point out flaws, request enhancements, ask for alternatives.  There's a few enhnancements I'd like to see happen to the blog module as well.  Bailing to another platform because the bundled feature does not meet your requirements (especially when there are others available) might be a bit of an overreaction? *grin*

The key to Kelly's issue would have been to have the users "create" (setup) their own blog.  Personally I find this a flaw as well, but the intial implementation of this module was for self-service in a trusted environment rather than centrally managed setup and administration.  There are other blog modules available which have more and less features or function differently altogether.  Choice is good.

Antonio may have overreacted a bit to Kelly (in retrospect I know he woudl agree), but for volunteers who put their personal time into free stuff... that's understandable.  It's not necessary to declare anybody's work awful just because its not working for you.  One of the great thing about open source is that there's always opportunity for something new to come along ;-)

I have followed the directions to give another user access to the Blog Admin and they still only see "create Blog" not the option to add a post to the the current Blog.  Is the it true that this should work or does it not work in the current release of the Blog - I am unsure based on the back-and-forth about the Blog.

Thanks,
Judy
