Hi I'm using Windows Server 2008, IIS7 with SQL Server 2008 with DNN 5.2.3.

Everything with my website (Intranet) was been working fine until I decided to change the site name from ABC to XYZ.

I updated HTTPAlias column with the new site name in PortalAlias table

I renamed my machine name to XYZ from ABC

I updated web.config file to point to the new server name

However, nothing appears to be working.

Does anyone have any "Step-by-Step" instructions on how to rename the site from http://Abc to http://Xyz ?

Would greatly appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Saleem

Did you change your MachineName? Or did you change the website name? In IIS there are "host headers" these should match the PortalAlias you have defined in DNN, unless of course you are doing a catch all website in IIS in which any host headers should work fine. If you're database is also on the same machine, you can change the database server to be a single period "." instead of using the machinename itself.

As for your statement that nothing is working. What are you seeing when you try to access the website? A 404 error? Server can't be found? etc?
