I would look into ASP.Net HTTP Modules and not modify the core code. You can find some more info here... http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307996

Nice! Is there a way to do a 301 redirect for the www redirecting to the non-www or vice versa (at least on the home page)?

Thx!

I know there are paid for modules to do this job but I'd rather avaoid paying any money out and just writting in some code to do this.  I have searched far and wide and have drawn a blank so far.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

What is your time worth? $50/hr? Why not buy URL master? Its $95 - can you write your code in less than 2 hours?

In fact URL master has so much functionality in it that it would take hundreds of hours to write an equivalent module from scratch.  And it does everything perfectly.  The price of modules on snowcovered is so low compared to the cost of doing it yourself.

Hi Oscar,

Very valid point and from I have heard of URL Master it is well worth the money however this came down to pure vanity on my part - I just wanted to be able to do it!  I'm trying to learn more about .net and this was a perfect opportunity for me to do that.  For anybody else looking for a solution, $95 for the ifinity module is worth every cent (AUS$/US$, not sure which).

@ Dave, thanks for that.  I'll take a look at the information.
