It still seems to be impossible to upgrade safely from 4.9 to 5.x

I have tried about 10 times with different versions and they all fail.

I presume the SQL upgrade fault : Executing Application Upgrades: 05.03.00 Error! is responsible for the cleanup error.

If nothing else, there is a spurious extra '\' in the path ~\Portals\0\\Cache\Modules\

00:00:45.078 -   Executing Application Upgrades: 05.03.00 Error!
00:00:50.359 -   Cleaning Up Files: 05.00.00 Error!

Access to the path 'E:\inetpub\vhosts\the7interchange.info\httpdocs\Install\Cleanup\03.00.08.txt' is denied.

ON running the site :

Access to the path 'E:\inetpub\vhosts\the7interchange.info\httpdocs\Portals\0\\Cache\Modules\' is denied

Access to the path 'E:\inetpub\vhosts\the7interchange.info\httpdocs\Install\Temp\4c3glna2' is denied.

HI

It's useful to know the exact DNN version you are upgrading from. Looks like a permissions issue. Please make sure that not only your parent folder permissions is set correct, but all your child folders/files below that are set correctly.


i.e.

Using Explorer....
Right click your website parent folder.
Click Properties
Click Security (tab)
Click Advanced (button)
Click Change permissions (button)
Tick Replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object
Respond Yes to the confirmation
Click OK three times.
