Here we go - I installed the skin on another instance on the same server (Server2008, DNN 5.2.3) and got the same error message. I looked at the skin files but they looked okay - didn't have a skin.ascx - skins but not skin. Anyway, here's the event log listing ( The x's are mine - just taking out internal info):
