hello,

ok so i successfully moved an installed 5.0 version of DNN from one web server with (IIS 6) to another server with (IIS 7)

i also made a back up of the SQL database and copied it from SQL 2005 to SQL 2008.

i then ran it in a browser and i get the 'DotNetNuke Installation Wizard - Version 05.01.00' page with the following message:

The Auto option has been disabled as the DotNetNuke Application cannot connect to a valid SQL Server database.
You can continue to use either of the other two Wizard options and configure the Database settings at the appropriate Wizard step.

i do not want the 'install' page, how come my home page isn't opening???

any help is much appreciated.

thanks,

riz

i fixed the issue! security id (SID) was different when restoring database, and was not able to use the same user, and also, i have an orphaned user when i restored to the 2008 SQL server. To fix run the following script: exec sp_change_users_login ‘AUTO_FIX’, ‘
