 I just successfully installed DNN 5.2.3. But, I thought I was installing 5.3.1. I tried selecting the 5.3.1 link again and it again installed 5.2.3.

How are you installing it?  Which link?

Can you give a screen shot?

Check Host Settings to see which version you actually have installed...

Which install option are you using? - did you download a package and unzip manually? the package should contain the proper version in its name - if you are using Microsoft Web Platform Installer, it should check on startup for latest versions to install and present 5.3.1 as well. - to validate, which files you installed, right click on dotnetnuke.dll in bin folder, which displays version number.

I checked host settings and it is indeed 5.2.3 (not 5.3.1). This version issue was brought to my attention when my new DNN install was stating there was an update available.

I used the web installer and at the beginning the web installer states 3.5.1. But, when you click the link to get started on the next page states version 3.2.5 (bottom left). I'll try again today.
