Addendum to my prior post:
the users must have Edit Rights on this module to be able to read messages (!!!!) which show the ugly View/Edit Radio Buttons on the top.
I do not understand why this behaviour is still an issue. There are a lot of modules where you can make everything what the module was designed for without giving the users edit-rights. This is only irritating to them and makes no sense.
Also there are some issues related to this like the fact that a click on your username does not show your profile page any more (since 5.3 i guess).
I found a page called User Profile in my page list, and tried to switch in the site settings in the entry Registration/Profile Page to this page, but it does not work at all. This setting always flips back to my first page in the list of all pages.
However, on this page, which was inserted autoamtically with the upgrade, was the message module as well.
As this page was not build by myself i deleted it without any harms or problems afterwards but when building a new profile page as a workaround for the problem that the user cannot access their profiles by clicking on their names, i recognized that the messagemodule was declared as a premium module.
Allthough i think the idea of these two functions are nice, the implementation is lacking some deeper thoughts. A behaviour like today can only be named as beta, as e.g. the function to check the name of the recepiant is .... well.... without any comment. There must be an addressbook-button for getting a list or at least a wildcard search. You cannot send mails inside this module if you don't know the login-name of the recepiant.
Last but not least, the message i saw i was wondering about was the same message the user got in his normal inbox after requesting a new password.
So, either send mails outside or inside. Not copied on both worlds.
Cheers
Kai
