Hi ...

I am new to DotNetNuke (DNN) and ASP for that matter ... I am a C++ and C# developer.

I have installed DNN v4.0.3 and am running the site locally ... I am also able to built the framework that I download.

My goal is to add a private assembly to the framework and have started to read the documentation to implement this.

Just for fun ... I would love to make a small change to the framework (like change some text somewhere) and then rebuild and refresh the site to see my changes appear.  Is this as easy as it sounds.  ???

Thanks,
Chris

Using DNN is definitely more complicated than creating a simple ASP.NET application. You might want to start playing around with web apps before digging into DNN because of this. If you're up for the challenge, tho, it's really not that much different. You'll just find some random oddities - like working with modules, for instance. Some concepts are tweaked to work with DNN's extensible architecture. Once you work in the environment for a while, you'll feel right at home, tho, and everything will become second nature. All I can say is, when you run into a snag, search Google for answers. 98% of the time, the problems users have (and post in the forums) aren't unique and have been answered at least 10x's before.
