Hi

I have been looking at installing the community edition to a host server, in this case 1and1 and requested as per other threads the need for the root permissions to be set correctly.

I have had this reply from 1and1 Customer Services and would appreciate your views.

It seems strange to me that such a popular package can only be installed on standalone servers.

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated

Staurt

not all hosters provide packages optimal for DNN. you may install DNN in a subdirectory and redirect from root, but this is hard to change back in the future.
