did you add new site address as portal alias prior to the move? do both connection strings in web.config file point to the proper database? has your IIS web site properly been setup?

You ask:

did you add new site address as portal alias prior to the move? I did after your post, adding the Portal Alias as: xyz.com .
do both connection strings in web.config file point to the proper database? <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;AttachDbFilename=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True" />
has your IIS web site properly been setup? Yes it is a major Hosting Comany. Site runs non DNN pages ok. The Support guy there looked at if and
said the Site Can not see Database. I pasted the string above.

David,

It sounds like your web host does not support user instances - which is what your current connection string is set up for.  User instances chew up processor time on web hosts' boxes, so there is a large disincentive for them to enable you to use them.

If your web hosting plan did not include a Microsoft SQL Server database, I would contact the company and try to upgrade to a plan that includes one.  Most will also provide a service to restore a database backup or attach your existing database file - a user instance is essentially a detached database file.

Good luck.

Your reply was correct. The hosting company does not support SQL Server Express Edition. I therefore found a DNN Hosting Company and got SQL Server 2008 for a lot less that I was paying on previous host. So I am happy they did not support Express. Thanks for your assistance.
