Hello experts ,
i am using dnn 5.0.0.2 . After creating a child portal when i try to access the child portal it is redirected to the default website. but when i restart the iis i am able to access the child portal without any difficulty.

You appear to be using an older version.

If you upgrade to the latest version (DNN 5.3.1 at the time of writing) and the problem persists - please log it in Gemini (http://support.dotnetnuke.com)
