I'm new to DNN and getting started.

Can DNN 5.3 be succesfully installed/work on a PC with XP PRO SP3  with IIS 5.1 for DNN development work (not deployment)?  if not , tthen will I need to go to IIS 6 or 7?

for best experience with IIS 5.1, I suggest downloading free XP Pro IIS Admin from www.jetstat.com/iisadmin.

I have been attempting to setup a site from a backup off my live server on a new XP Pro SP3 setup.

I could not get passed the 403 error due to what i thought was rights or lack of rights.  I read your comment:

"for best experience with IIS 5.1, I suggest downloading free XP Pro IIS Admin from www.jetstat.com/iisadmin."
After installing and adding the site that way instead of a virtual site as in the Basic IIS the site works. the bell went off when I had to stop the default site and start my new site. So if on XP Pro I can only run 1 site at a time why do we create the virtual sites? and shouldn't the virtual sites work?
