I'm new to DNN.  I am reading the DotNetNuke 5 User's Guide.  I would like further docs/info/details on using the forum module on DNN 5 Community Ed.  Can you provide a link for more thorough info?
Ex:
Q.  Can the forum module be configured to send emails to forum/topic subscribers upon an initial post (new topic, not just the replies)?  If so, will the email contain the text of the post or just a link to that post?

Problem:  Our club setup a new forum recently; initially I believe it was indeed sending out emails for initial posts.  Now it is sending out only notifications for 'replies' and not for the initial posts.  In some cases, some subscribers are no longer even receiving the replies in a thread.

Thanx.

by definition, the Forums module is sending out notifications on any post, if you subscribe to a forum, however, I remember some recent version having problems - it is fixed in the version installed here, but I am not sure, whether it has already been fixed in the public version currently available.

Yes, 4.5.3 had all known notification issues handled (from what I remember). The problems we had on dnn.com after that upgrade were related to dnn.com only, not the released version.
