Hello,

After attempting to upgrade from 5.1 to 5.3.1 I get the following error message. I have checked file security permissions, the web.config file, and the proper package (I am using the upgrade package)

Has anyone else seen this message before? Any resolution?

Thank you for your time.

Regards,

Christopher Koeber

That is a known error discussed several times in this forum and the XML forum that was introduced in v 5.3.0 and is related to ambiguous namespaceing in the XML module.

1. Remove all files from your site's \App_Code\XML\ folder. This should get your site back up and running.

2. Login as Host and navigate to Host-->Extensions. Scroll to the very bottem of the page and click on "Install Available Extensions" Select the new version of the XML module which is included in the 5.3.1 package then click "Install Selected Extensions".

If you are using the Chat module, there is a similar problem. An updated version of the Chat module is not yet available. A workaround is found in the Chat forum.

This solved the problem! Thanks!

I searched for this error before but I guess I used the wrong terms when I searched.
