Hi,

I am a web designer and wanted to start using DNN for building CMS websites. I am not that great with technical stuff and looking for a straight forward solution. I hope DNN is one of those solutions. I am a Mac user and don't know what to download since I can not use the "Install" option as it requires the Microsoft installer or whatever it is which runs only on Windows.

What do I need to download?

Thanks

Micha

 Hi Micha,

DotNetNuke runs on the windows stack, you cannot install it on OS X (beside from running in a Windows VM).

In addition to Stefan's reply, you can install DNN on a remote Windows Web Server and will be able to setup a web site with all content using the browser on your Mac and even create DNN Skins and Containers, package it and upload to the web server.

Cheers from Germany,

 Thanks guys

I will use my VM ware for now and see how I go. I also thought if using my hosting server but I am not sure how to set up the package. I will find out I am sure.

Thanks
