Hi, I am trying to utilize SOLPARTMENU on my portal and I am stuck for two days now on a menu problem. At the moment I am affraid that what I am trying to do is not possible since all the skins I saw, including official DNN site (this one) have the same problem with the menu.

Now to the point. I put image background to menubar and skinned root menu items. So my root menu items are text items on image background. Therefore root items must have transparent background. And everything is OK when the menu is displayed. BUT when I move mouse pointer over the menu in IE everything is OK and in Firefox I'm getting LIGHT BLUE bacground!!! This is big problem, because my menu design relies on the background image. Whatever I do, I cannot get rid of this light blue background in Firefox.

You can see what I am talking about if you open this site (DNN site) in Firefox and move your mouse pointer over main menu (home, abount, ...) on the top of this page.

If I set bacground color to white (like skinners of DNN portal could do to solve their problem) I can have white background instead of light blue, but I cannot get transparent background.

Is there a solution to this issue?

I don't see that issue with the menu in DNN in Firefox.

Do you know the truth when you hear it?

Big thank you!

I was trying everything you can imagine in my skin css but never touched stylesheet accessible via admin Site setting menu. When I set transparency as you said (and added another one to MainMenu_MenuItemSel) transparent background works fine in Firefox, IE and Opera!

Thanx again,

Nenad

I would show you what I see in my browser, but I cannot upload images. For the time beeing I put an image on one of my websites:

http://velo.info/dnnmenu.gif

Here you can see blue background begind "About" when mouse pointer is over the item and this happens in Firefox and does not happen in IE (there it is always white background).

Using advice from Pat, I managed to make the background transparent in both browsers (and tested also Opera), everything on Windows, never tried Linux but hope it works too.
