We provide client an installer to restore default dotnetnuke database with our configurations & setup. I am wondering if there is a better way?

What exactly are you trying to do? Restore a website to another server? Have you looked at the Portal Export/Template functionality?

yes, pretty much. We want to give client a default installation which contains our pages setup and edit setting values for each module. We had a custom installer in dnn 4 but I want to start taking advantage of DNN 5 core feature instead of creating another one.

I haven't tried portal export but will try it out. Thanks again for your help!
