 Hello All:

I'm trying to install DNN Community Edition 5.x, that I downloaded from the ASP.NET site. However, when i get to the screen that asks to configure the database, I get the following error when I click the "Next" button:

"The following error occurred when trying to connect to the database by using the specified parameters: Login failed for user DNNAccount"

I checked to make sure the password was correct, and I also checked to make sure that permissions were set on the folders where any files might be installed. I also downloaded and reviewed the instructions, and I believe I've done everything that is necessary for my set up:

Windows 7, Management Studio, SQL Server Express 2008

I'm uncertain of what to look for next. Any help that is offered is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

 Hello,

Your problem sounds like a permissions / connection problem. If you check your web.config file in your root folder, you'll see the connection string DNN tries to use (note: there are two places for the connection to be specified).

In order for someone from the forum to help you out, I would suggest you copy us both lines from the web.config that state the connection string to the database (please take care to replace the servername or password etc). This should help us to get an idea about how you exactly try to connect an perhaps give you some hints how to solve your issue.
