I have installed DNN on my server. We have the domain name detechsol.com assigned to the isp but when you type in that address it comes up http://02f4d02.netsolhost.com/dotnetnuke/ instead of remaining detechsol.com. Is there a place within dnn to reset this so the domain comes up properly?

Thanks,

Ann

You need to add a Portal Alias, you do this by logging in as HOST or another Super User account and go to the Portals page, click on the edit pencil next to a portal and find the Portal Alias section on that page. You can add the alias there.

Thanks, I did that and it still comes up the same way. Do I need to delete the other one?

It might actually be something your host is doing for the redirect. Do you have FTP access to your web host? Is there a file in the root of the website, above the /dotnetnuke folder, that is doing a redirect to /dotnetnuke but perhaps also redirecting to the temporary URL that was setup?

I reread your directions above. On the portals page there is one portal and it is uneditable. There is no pencil beside that entry. Is there some file I need to change? Something that attached it to that address in the initial installation? I also checked the redirect with the ISP and it is definitely something within DNN.
