We recently upgraded a client's DotnetNuke installation to version 5.01.04 then proceeded to upgrade the Forum module to version 4.5.3.

If we sign in as host we see the Admin menu in both the actions menu and in the forum buttons at the top. But, when our client logs in as admin, that menu is missing.

We've looked all over the settings and can find no reason why that menu is disabled for administrators.

How can we resolve this? It does not make sense for the administrator of the site not to have access to the Admin menu.

I have the same problem, I upgraded to 4.5.3 and now I dont see option for the Forum Admin, neither for roles with edit permissions. My DNN version is 4.9.5.

by the way, I dont see the column "Forum Admin" in the configuration of the module, can it be part of the problem?

Hi Jose, and thanks for the reply.

Your script did actually work, but for an earlier version of the Forum module. We tested the script locally on a DNN site that uses version 3.20.8 of the Forum module, but when we tried the same on the clients server which uses version 4.5.3 it didn't work.

In fact we're getting a number of issues with this new Forum module: 

1. The Admin user doesn't see the Admin menus as we've listed already.

2. We can't find the place to change the Skin of the forum at all because the User Interface view was throwing an exception, which just now started working so we've managed to select a different Theme

3. When we go to Users and try to view User Settings, nothing happens. At times we also get an error thrown about Object not being set to an instance of an object

Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated.
