Is it possible to write and configure a custom provider for the Store module to implement custom functionality after payment has been confirmed by a Payment Service Provider?

I need to be able to call a 3rd party web service once payment has been received. In a PayPal scenario, that would be after the IPN has been received. However, I would like to be able to create a solution that would work with any payment type.

Ideally, I don't want to touch the Store code, but just configure my own provider class.

Is this possible? How would I go about it? I'd be interested to know if any docs exist on the provider architecture for the Store checkout process.

Hi Paul,

Currently it's not possible, you have to change each gateway provider to call your code.

I agree than such a kind of "CRM/ERP" provider could be usefull but this require a lot of changes. Ideally, this provider would possess an interface with one method such as "DoAction". Two parameters are passed, the action type and identifier. This will allow to inform the provider when an order is crated/updated/deleted (action type) and so on. The provider could retrieve the order with his ID and do what is needed by calling a web service as a sample.

We (team members) are Humans offering their knowledge, their work and their spare time FOR FREE to benefit the community. It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.
