This makes no sense... I want to use CKEditor (http://dnnckeditor.codeplex.com/) not fck or Teletik... so I can't???

What Options do I have?

This only happens since 5.4, I have other sites in 5.3 and I don't have any problem!

I don't like Telerik because I don't see an "customize Options" link... but perhaps I'm just missing something...

This is a Bug of DNN and fixed in dnn 5.4.1

http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/V...

I put a fixed beta Version of my CKEditor Provider online, that will work with DNN 5.4

I am running into this exact problem after upgrading to 5.4.0 last week.

Are there exact instructions on how to change the editor from FCKEditorProvider to the Telerik provider? I don't know how to do that.

Thanks

I also do not know how to switch to the Telerik Editor Provider when a site is upgraded. How is this accomplished? Are there other issues with existing modules instances?

Hans

I believe that I have found the way to implement the Telerik Editor as the default for upgrade sites.  Perform the following:

  1. Make a backup of your currently active web.config file.
  2. Open the web.config file in an editor.
  3. Seach the file for htmlEditor defaultProvider=
  4. If you are currently using the FCK Editor the value would be "FckHtmlEditorProvider"
  5. Before you continue, ensure that you have the Telerik editor listed as one of the providers.
  6. If all is well, then change the value of the htmEditor default Provider line to read as follows:

                        <htmlEditor defaultProvider="TelerikEditorProvider">

  1. Close your web.config file
  2. You can now see that the editor for HTML/Text modules has been change to use the Telerik editor.

I trust that this corrects the issue with setting the Telerik eidtor as the default when sites are upgraded.

Hans
