Thanks so Much Judy!

And yes, you are correct as it complicates installations should you have to manually alter the config file.

I'm not sure if anyone is checking this thread still but I have the same problem on an install of 5.6.3 I've added the line and still get the error when trying to update a module. If anyone has any ideas that would be great.

Here is the line I added to my web.config:

</system.web>
  <runtime>
    <assemblyBinding xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1">
      <probing privatePath="bin;bin\HttpModules;bin\Providers;bin\Modules;bin\Support;" />
      <dependentAssembly>
        <assemblyIdentity name="System.Web.Extensions" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" />
        <!--Upgraded by .NET 4.0 Upgrade version 5.5.0 - Date: 9/29/2010 11:58:32 AM-->
        <!--<bindingRedirect oldVersion="1.0.0.0-1.1.0.0" newVersion="3.5.0.0" xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1" />-->
        <bindingRedirect oldVersion="1.0.0.0-1.1.0.0" newVersion="4.0.0.0" />
      </dependentAssembly>

<httpRuntime useFullyQualifiedRedirectUrl="true" maxRequestLength="8192" requestLengthDiskThreshold="8192" requestValidationMode="2.0" />

<dependentAssembly>
        <assemblyIdentity name="System.Web.Extensions.Design" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" />
        <!--Upgraded by .NET 4.0 Upgrade version 5.5.0 - Date: 9/29/2010 11:58:32 AM-->
        <!--<bindingRedirect oldVersion="1.0.0.0-1.1.0.0" newVersion="3.5.0.0" xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1" />-->
        <bindingRedirect oldVersion="1.0.0.0-1.1.0.0" newVersion="4.0.0.0" />
      </dependentAssembly>
