Hi,

I'm a new user of dotnetnuke, by the way... a very great app!!

I would like to remove the search bar because I have too much of menu button and I need space... I dont need the search bar so I would like to remove it...
I have searched on google how to and all I got is old stuff like this tread :

http://www.snapsis.com/DotNetNuke/Sup...

but for the version 5.2 I dont find any place where I can put this :
< dnn:SEARCH runat="server" id="dnnSEARCH" showWeb="False"showSite="False" />
I've tried to put it in the portals/default_/default.css but it does not work

Please help me :) Thank you!

MAx,

You can remove/update the search object from the skin's ascx file ( ... \Portals\_default\Skins\MinimalExtropy\index.ascx for example)

However, this is non-trivial if you are new to DNN.  I would first suggest you view some of the video's on Skinning at DNNCreative.    This will give you the background needed to make the change properly.

Hope this helps
Paul.

In the default css, look for the word search;

You may find something similar to:

/* Search SkinObject Styles */

In the object you want to not appear:

    display: none;
