Hello.

I'm trying to install, test, evaluate DotNetNuke 4.0.3 using the DotNetNuke 4.0.3 Starter Kit.

I got to the point where i install the site using CTRL-F5.  When i do that, the IE window opens but says "You are not authorized to view this page.  HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden".

I followed all of the instructions and went back and did them again to make sure.  When it still did not work, i uninstalled everything and reinstalled it.  Still have the same problem.

I gave everybody in the "Group or user names:" box on the security tab, full control.

Win XP Pro SP2, IIS5.1, ASP.NET 2.0, MS Visual Web Developer.

Any help that anybody can provide would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks,

 Tony

Hello Tony,

Misery loves company.  I experienced the same problem with a setup almost identical to yours, except that the OS used is Win XP Media Center.

Regards,

Wayne

Hello,

I've experienced same issue when I installed DNN 3.2.2 on my Win2K using "http://localhst/DotNetNuke".

But when I hit "http://localhost/DotNetNuke/Install/Install.aspx" in the browser, DNN start installing.

And so far, it seems it's working.

Regards.

Hello.

I tried that and got some other kind of error that is too long to put into this message.

This is very annoying.  I see other forum talk about how people are using and modifying this dotnetnuke stuff.  They apparently have it installed.  What document did they follow to accomplish getting up and running ?

Thanks,

Tony
