Hi,

I have created some users and roles that can only work on specific pages on the site. So in the page's settings, I indicated the corresponding permissions, such as Add content, even full control over that page. But the user can't add modules to that page, using the top control panel.

Could you let me know what should I do so that that user can add modules to the page? I don't want this user to be an administrator. This way he/she will have permissions over more than what I want.

For instance, if there is  a section in the site called "Departments" I created a role call "Departments" and created users related to that role. Then on the department's page I set up the permissions so that the "Departments" role has most of all the permissions available. But when I log in as that user, and go to Departments, I can update the information of the page but I can't add more modules if I want to....

Thanks!

if using DNN CE, any user with Edit permission for the page may add, move or delete modules and create subpages.

I found a way to solve this.

1- Go to Admin > extensions
2- scroll down to the module section. Go to the module that you want the user to be able to add. Select the module (edit icon)
3- The module has a section "Extension settings" with the "desktop module permissions"
Select there the users you'd like to have "deploy module" permissions.

4. Finally, update desktop module

For all the modules you'd like to grant permissions of adding, you will have to do the same and follow those steps.

Hope this helps.

Thank you very much Dana! it works! but if there was a simple way to assign some known or also custom permission to users or groups, it would be appreciated! something like windows servers Active directory group policy. as i know there is just DNN have just page & module scope permissions, so it require something beyond these. hope DNN team consider it!
