I hope someone can help me out with this one, otherwise it looks like the site will have to be rebuilt from scratch.

The site works normally for users that aren't logged in, there's a lot of public content which displays fine, the menu's work etc, but once you log in as an admin something very strange happens.  There's no text in the admin/host ribbon at the top of the screen.  The icons are all there for users, security etc but no text.  Then when editing pages etc under the admin menu there is no text next to the text boxes, all the labels are either blank or just not appearing.  Initially I did think that this would be a localisation issue but nothing has changed in that area, ever.

Another problem, when I access the host menu and go to the portals page (the text appears under the icons in the menus displayed on the pages for admin and host?!?!) no portals show in the table... there must be a portal 0, that's the one I'm in.  There are no other portals on the site.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this, I'd be incredibly grateful if someone can tell me how to get the site back to normal.  If you need any more details just let me know.

Cheers,  Peter

I would make sure the language packs are installed correctly and are enabled across all portals to start with. By the sound of it you are using a recent version of DNN with ribbon bar, if so make sure you are on DNN 5.4.1

The language pack that is in use is the English(UK) pack and has been running without problem for a few months now.  The version is 5.01.01, but would this really cause such an issue?

Is there a way once I'm logged in (as host) of directly accessing the 0 portal settings so that I can check for anything that appears to be odd in there, besides the missing labels all over the place?

The last time the labels were showing was when I was adding a page to the site, when I saved the page the site took quite a while to save, could anything have happened at that point to cause this problem?

Thanks,  Peter

As suggested I have checked with the Language packs, and when I switch the site to the US English pack the text is back.  Any ideas why the text would have suddenly disappeared for the UK English language pack, even though it all appears to be there when you look at the languages section of the admin pages?

Thanks for the help,  Peter

Either your language pack needs reinstalling or you will need to upgrade to 5.4.1 (I recommend testing the upgrade first).... thanks. Also I suggested making sure that languages are enabled across ALL portals (as a test).

Hope this helps...
