I would like the default for all modules on all sites to be unchecked for allow print and None for collapse/expand.  Can I do this either in the interface or through the code somewhere?  I am on DNN 5.2.

Yes you can set these as default. Go to the module settings for any module on your site, then in the section below the options you are inquiring about there is an Advanced Settings section (I believe that's the name) in there you can make those the default, and also apply to all modules, using the checkboxes there. Then update the settings for the module and they will be applied. All of the settings there in the default module settings will get saved though (container, display container, expand/collapse, print, syndicate, etc)

Thank you!  I should have tried this.  I tried it a long time ago but it didn't work, but we're talking version 3.x.  It seems to work fine now!
