We are planning our upgrade to 5.4.1. We are presently at 5.2.3. The upgrade went smoothly on our mirrored site, no errors but now the navigation from page to page takes 26 +  seconds where it currently takes < 5 seconds. What has changed to the core that would cause such a dramatic change? When we tried it with each release it appears the slowdown occured in the 5.3.1 upgrade. We have compared the release config's to make sure the changes have been made to our web config. Why the slow down? Is there someting we should be changing because of core changes. Yes, we have noticed the move from memory, to file cache provider. Is there some update to pages that need to be made? We have noticed that satic pages are not effected just ones with SQL queries, the CPU spikes to 100%.
