Last I checked yes it should still work with IIS 5.1 though if you want to use DNN 5.2+ you'll need to make sure you have SQL 2005/2008 and .NET Framework 3.5sp1 installed as well.

Chris,

I'm reaching out on a few forums.  Now and then I have an uncrackable issue that comes up with XP Pro SP3, IIS 5.1 just at any given time.  Everything is correct: db logins, folder permissions for Network Service, etc.  I used to get around this by running the site up in Visual Studio but not this time.  I'm now running  2008 and it doesn't do it.

I've tried setting IIS or anonymous login as well as Windows Auth.  I'm pulling my hair out now, here is what I've posted on 2 other forums:

An obscure errror happens now and then with Windows XP Pro sp3 running IIS 5.1.  I can hit a test page on local host for a site but if I try to hit default aspx I get a bogus error.  I know it is bogus because I can do 2 things: Remove Default.aspx from IIS | Documents and the error happens; also rename Default.aspx to Default.aspx.old, do IIS Reset and I get the same error.  The error is that ProviderController.vb has a mismatch between parameter count and parameter values.

However, with IE cache clearred, IIS reset AND both Default.aspx renamed as well as not being a default doc in IIS, I get the same error.  So it's like Default.aspx does not exist.

This was tracked down over a year ago with a buddy and I'll be damned if I can remember it.

I know this is an out of forum question but I need to resolve this.  Do you know off hand what it is?

DNN Versin is 5.4.1, SQL 2008.  Logins are set, folder permissions are correct.
