I had installed the DNN Starter Kit a long time ago. Not seeing any information about how this gets updated (is it automatic or do I need to do this manually?!), I decided to just install the latest (5.4.1) Starter Kit - errantly presuming that it would 'make things right'.

However, now I have two identical project templates displayed in Visual Studio 2010 (from the New Project... page) - without any indication of version. Right clicking doesn't provide an uninstall option and I've yet to come across MSDN doc for removing these Templates. Apparently one has to go to some special directory and manually remove them - but neither the directories cited for Visual Studio 2008 or 2010 (it's now under my docs) seem to have relievant files. There is nothing under Tools | Manage Extensions, nor in Add/Remove Programs - actually now "Programs and Features" on Windows 7.

Can anyone provider a pointer for how to remove all these instances - so I can start over?

Also on the 5.4.1 codeplex download page several people say the current version of the Starter Kit is (still?) broken. Should I just wait for the next update or are others having success?

Yesterday i had the same prob.
What i've done:
- under your username on your machine, in my documents\vs2008\templates are the zip files. Just delete them.
- if you delete the whole folder "vb" you won't be able to install a new starterkit. To fix this in vs2008 go to import / export settings and there click on reset to default. This will rebuild the folderstructure but unfortunately also resets your personal settings.

Cheers

Kai
