I just recently upgraded to 5.4.1.  When I go to edit or add content, I get the error
"Could not load RadEditor. Invalid tools file. Check provider settings in the web.config: ~/Providers/HtmlEditorProviders/Telerik/Config/ToolsDefault.xml".  I had issues with the login after the update.  Are these issues connected with the update?  How can I get my rich text editor back?  Thanks for any help.

While looking at a backup from March, an update or so ago, I noticed in the web config that I had one htmleditor (FckHtmlEditorProvider) while in the current config file (5.4.1) - I have two - FckHtmlEditorProvider and TelerikEditorProvider.

Can I just delete the TelerikEditorProvider or will that make things worse?  Any help / suggestions is appreciated.

I had the same problem, but resolved it by installing the TelerikEditorProvider_05.04.02_Install.zip file from the install/providers folder using the Host / Extensions page.

Thanks Clinton for the input.

My problem, however was admin error.  I hadn't caught the 5.4.0 update  and went directly to the 5.4.1, which I believe was realeased nine days later.  It took alot of time and dead ends before I finally looked at the release notes for 5.4.0 which added Telerik as a provider.

I rolled back to 5.3.1 and updated to 5.4.1 and everything worked right.

ALWAYS make backups.
