I see alot of post dealing with hosting DNN sites on Godaddy hosting plans and after reading thru tons of them I am seeing lots of old posts and posts regarding the economy plans and lack of permissions as well as older complaints about only having MS Sql 2000. I am looking to see if I can get an updated summary of hosting on Godaddy.
So far in looking at what is available in Godaddy windows servers I have MS SQL 2005 databases available to me and they are loading DNN 5.4.1 if you use the autoinstall feature on their hosting control panel.
I have 6 html based websites currently hosted on Godaddy and I am thinking I would like to redo all of the sites in DNN 5.4X .

If I get a "unlimited plan" I can get an unlimited number of MSsql 2005 databases @ 200 meg each

If I use the Unlimited plan can I host a number of portals each hosting their own DNN site for each of my customers?
Is there a practical limit to how many?
WIll the unlimited plan allow me to do a standard root installation without having to "hack" the installation to move files and fake URLS ?
If I can't install in the root how "sensitive" is the host to site installation upgrades? (can't afford extended outages)
Are there any other hidden gotchas hosting DNN site on Godaddy. I am assuming their support for DNN is not very good from whet I have read.

Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide

Great question. I have the same concerns. I am going to call godaddy today to see if they respond in person with the same template answer they give through email support. Any current DNN community info on this would be a big help. If godaddy dnn hosting is just a waste of time, it would be great to know.
