Hi All,

Having some difficulties forcing users to update their profile when logging in.  I have setup a profile property for "Accepting Terms and Conditions" based on the following link.  It works the first time a user logs in where they are directed to their profile page to select "True" after which they are allowed to enter the site.  My issues arises when I update the Terms and Conditions for the site and therefore have to force the user to re-accept the new terms.  I logged in as admin and changed the profile property "Accepting Terms and Conditions" for all users to False.  The validation expression is set to True.  I would assume that upon a users next login the users profile would be invalid due to the "Terms and Conditions" property being false however they are not redirected to update their profile and change setting to True?

Under Admin --> User Accounts -->User Settings --> require a valid profile for login IS Checked.  Using Dotnetnuke version 05.02.03 (74)

any help would be greatly appreciated

Cheers,

Peter

I was waiting for a reply on this tread has I have the same problem... but since no one replied yet... I'm bringing it back to life ...

First you can change that "true" to a Checkbox... some time ago someone decided to remove the Checkbox DataType from DNN lists... not sure why... anyway if you want a checkbox there, just add this to Host -> Lists-> DataType:

Text: DotNetNuke.UI.WebControls.CheckEditControl, DotNetNuke

Value: Checkbox

You will also need to turn this into a System List, but you can only do that in the database (or trough Host -> SQL) has far has I know...

But back to the main problem... I still didn't figure this out... I'm still looking trough the database to see if anything is different and running some tests on my local dnn installation!

If someone knows how to get around this please advice!

lol I noticed now that this is not the tread I wanted to reply.... I had the two separators open and got confused when I login.

My problem is that I want the Terms to appear in the register page with the simple form (Username, mail pass...) and then I want the user to fill he rest when he Logins!

For what you want I think the best option is to set all the "True" or "False" to null... because "false" is still o value so I will consider the profile valid!
