"A critical error has occurred. Object reference not set to an instance of an object." We are using version 4.9.5. 1 superuser and 2 admins. All users cannot login including superuser. There is no error detail. Error occured after editing an Announcements module. I was changing the "view" setting and my browser froze. I restarted my browser and from that point on could no longer login.

Any chance you could try another browser? if that other browser works I would suggest clearing your cookies.

You might also try it out from another machine. If it still fails I would look at the EventLog table in the database to see if you can find a more detailed error message.

Thanks for your reply. Appreciate that. We tried IE and Opera to no avail. We also cleared cookies and tried different pcs to no avail. We then looked at the event log and found a detailed error message. Here is the link that solved the issue for us. http://dnntips.wordpress.com/2008/07/...

In short, we reset the IsEnabled flag on the Authentication table. It was False and we set it to True. We, like the author on the link, still don't know why the error occured. Do you have any ideas why the error occured?
Thanks again!
