I find myself needing to run a php/MySQL package on the same domain with a DNN 4.0 install. No host seems able to provide this all together on a Windows server for me. Is there a conflict that would prevent this? The package is an extremely robust, classified software package for which I find no similar addon to DNN.

See http://geodesicsolutions.com/products/classifieds/classifieds_enterprise.htm

The requirements are:

Server (Host) Requirements:
Unix/Linux/Windows
PHP 4.3 +
MySQL database

Unfortunately, DNN is going to loose in this fight if I can't get it figured out. I'll have to switch to some other inferior CMS that is php/MySQL and I don't want to do that!  I'm pretty dumb at this, so any opinions are appreciated! Thanks!

Is this because you have a php application you need to run with a dnn site?

Hi Nina!
Yes, I need to run the php classified software listed in my post on the same site with DNN. I can't find any other application in asp or .net that has the same features, and there are a lot. Yet, DNN has everything else I require for the other features I am planning. Besides, I am used to DNN. My brain is getting slow at learning new things. Thank goodness DNN is in there already!

Have you checked out this handy app? http://www.nukelets.com - it's a php wrapper for DotNetNuke as far as I've been told.

I did have a cursory look at this. As I remember, they specifically stated that it is not for running full applications, only snippets of php. (And, what is the difference???) I'll check again and push the issue, but I am pessimistic. There is still the MySql issue, too. I just don't know enough about installation/programming (= zero). I am definitely on the "end user" side of the fence. I don't require DNN and this php app to communicate, just run under the same domain name. I can put a link in DNN to point to it and vice versa. I just need the address of both to still lead with www.mydomain.com/whatever
Thanks for your ongoing thoughts, Nina!
