Freddie,

Try adding single quotes around the image url. I tried it in Firebug and that seemed to make it work. Maybe I am too dependent on auto-complete!

background:url('/Portals/1/Prospekt breit.jpg') no-repeat;

(added a no-repeat in there)

It works! But when I want to add more text the background dissapears again. After I pushed "Enter" all of the text dissapears.
the source code with hello is:
<div style="width: 1000px; background: url(/Portals/1/Prospekt breit.jpg) no-repeat; height: 500px"><span style="font-size: x-large">Hello!</span></div>

The source code after I pushed "Enter" is:
<div style="width: 1000px; background: url(/Portals/1/Prospekt breit.jpg) no-repeat; height: 500px"><span style="font-size: x-large">Hello!</span></div>
<div style="width: 1000px; background: url(/Portals/1/Prospekt breit.jpg) no-repeat; height: 500px">&#160;</div>
With this result:
http://www.eguina.ch/TestHintergrund/...

Does that mean that with this solution I'm not able to create text over the picture as I can over a color?

Regards,
Freddie

PS: Because it's a test page I could open an user login if you want to...

Freddie,

It really puzzled my that you would need to add single quotes around an image url for it to display because I've never had to do this, and then I realised you've got a space in the name of the file, so it makes sense now. As a rule of thumb when I'm creating files to use online I try and keep everything lowercase and if there are spaces in the name, use a - instead. So an example of this would be the-name-of-the-file.jpg rather than TheName of TheFile.jpg. In the long run it makes things easier to work with, and it also works across all browsers.

As Ralph suggested, adding the ' ' around the image will make it work.

Regards,

Rick.

Hi Rick, hi Ralph,

Thanks for the tips. I changed the name of the picture as you suggested and it's working now.

Unfortunately I can't make the picture to fill 100% of the width even I set the module width to 1000px.
Here http://www.eguina.ch/TestHintergrund/... I added the background picture in a "div"  with 1000px. What happens is the module/page gets wider than 1000px and the picture does not fill the whole width.
Here http://www.eguina.ch/TestRahmen/tabid... I added the background picture in a "img" (to test), also with 1000px. What happens is the module/page gets even more wide, but at least the picture fills 100% of the width.

I tried to use % instead of px, with no success.

What else could I try?

Regards,
Freddie
