It used to be possible to add a User Registration module to a new page and then declare it as the Registration Page in the Site Settings for the Portal.

But I can no longer find the User Registration module in the list of modules to be added to new pages for DNN 5.4.2.

So where did it disappear? And how is it possible to create a custom User Registration page if there is no longer any User Registration module?

You need to create a User Profile page (select Template: UserProfile) when adding the page. Make sure All Users can view the page. Then set this as the "User Registration/Profile Page" under Admin>Site Setting - Advanced Settings - Page Management.

Well thanks for reply. But what you described doesn't work and doesn't exist on my machine with my copy of clean-installed DNN 5.4.2.

There are five settable pages in order of appearance under "Page Management" and they are 1) Splash, 2) Home, 3) Login, 4) Registration, and 5) User Profile.

There is no setting that combines #4 and #5 into a "User Registration/Profile Page" and regarding the template for UserProfile, I cannot see any Registration module or functionality added to the page, only a User Profile module.

As far as I have been able to discover, the required functionality is found in the "manageusers.ascx" control under DesktopModules/Admin/Security and this unclear naming for this control, as well as the complex mixtures of functionalities that it contains, demonstrates further the unnecessary confusion and confounding here in a critically important part of the CMS for registration, login, profile. I would recommend that this part of the CMS should be as clear and simple and straightforward as possible with as much "Separation of Concerns" in functionality as possible... but everything is so mixed together. Charles, are you reading this?!?

But unfortunately the design has been so contorted and mixed together that I predict that it will continue to suffer problems either generating more bugs that continue to fly and/or useability problems for developers such as myself that cause us to waste time and lose sleep....

I also have a problem with user registration, but with default settings. When registration is public and the user registers, enters his/her account data and submits he sees error message that the User registration module is unavailable. But really account is created correctly and the user may login to site. It was checked on both clear install 5.4.2 and update from previous version to 5.4.2. Maybe it's regarded to email problem (Event log shows an Exception: mail subj is not correct).

The only template option I have when creating a page is "Default".  I'm running Dnn 5.5.1 community.  Please help.
