Hi, I hope you can help me with the following.....

I have been with WH4L for some time.  I believe that in my agreement with them they were/are performing daily backups.

I installed DNN with/through them, on their interface.
I have created a small handful of sub-directories on the root folder, mostly purely for redirect purposes.
I have bought/installed one additional DNN module.

They have migrated me ... OH NOES ... and .... it doesn't work.  My site has been down...
I can log onto the control panel.  It's just my site doesn't load.

Now, read this next bit carefully: I DO NOT KNOW MY WAY ROUND THE SERVER, IIS, or DNN.

What instructions would you give your maiden aunt, with no server knowledge, for her to be able to take an entire copy of the whole site ... so that it can be kept safe here, on my PC.

Any takers?

Hello earner, You can dowload all your DNN Files by connecting thru FTP. For the Database follow the Steps below.

Log into the control panel with your account username and password.

2. Click on ‘MS SQL Database’ under ‘Scripting and Add-Ons’.
3. Click on the login name in front of the database.
4. Click on ‘Connection’.
5. Click on ‘DSN-less’.
6. Select the database host address and enter the database username and password. Then click on ‘Connect’.
7. Click on the plus sign next to 'Tools' on the left hand side.
8. Click on ‘Backup wizard’.
9. In the ‘Destination’ textbox enter the physical path for your home directory and the backup file name. The file extension should be .bak.
10. Click on ‘Create’.

The backup file will be uploaded to your account and you need to download it using FTP or File Manager.

Thanks for that.  I can do most of that ... I need to spend a few hours finding out some of the info (e.g. database name/username/password -and- the host database address).  Can't do it right now as I am on the wrong PC (I think some of that info is on my main PC).

I have no idea what I'd ever do with a backup ... I'd just like to own one so I felt a little less vulnerable :)
