Hi

I am developing a custom module that allows searching through important business data and that allows importing and exporting of data using XML.
However, for some date fields, the XML contains an empty string. So, it should be inserted as a NULL value in my database table.
But, all that is getting inserted is 01/01/0001 as a date (minvalue).
How can I achieve that a NULL value is inserted?

Before calling your method to insert the information into your database table you will need to substitute a DBNull for the DateTime value. The core framework  provides a handy class DotNetNuke.Common.Utilities.Null with many shared methods to convert between common application nulls (such as DateTime.MinValue) and the DBNull object. In this case, if the field myDate contains your DateTime value which may be null, use the following function to convert to a database null:

DotNetNuke.Common.Utilities.Null.GetNull(myDate, DbNull.Value)
