Hello DNN experts. I'm having problems getting the search menu to accept the Danish characters æøå ÆØÅ.
There are no problems displaying æøå ÆØÅ on ordinary Web pages - only for queries where I don't get hits on words containing the Danish characters.
I have vacuumed Google for possible solutions. There are so many describing the problem, but I haven't been able to find guidelines to the ultimate solution, and hope for help here.
I am running DNN 5:04:02 (66) with a SQL Express 2008_r2 and all Danish / Nordic settings are in place.
Have also tried reindex - as recommended by Sebastian Leupold - no luck!

Kind regards Ole L. Jacobsen / Copenhagen

Ole, are you talking about google search or built in DNN search? For DNN search, check weather the words are contained in searchword table in the database.

Cheers from Germany,
Sebastian Leupold

Hi Sebastian.
Thank you for taking the time to respond.
It's the DNN search.
I didn't know that there was a search word table. I have checked the table all the Danish words are present in the table in plain text with correct spelling.

These two general Danish word (bestyrelsesmøde - fællesudgifterne) is correct in Search Word, but in Announcements Description field
the format of the same words looks like this (bestyrelsesmøde - fællesudgifterne)
How does that affect the search?
I have tried to cut and paste bestyrelsesmøde into the search box - no hit.

Ole

ole, text in the database is usually html encoded - that's fine. however it should work fine in search, but i haven't reviewed yet, how search is comparing entered text with database content.

Cheers from Germany,
Sebastian Leupold

Hi Sebastian. Looking closer at the words in the database - doesn't it looks like a double encoding. Where can I find the exact query string / request that are sent from the query field to the db. Thanks for looking in to this matter - help is much appreciated Ole
