I am using AD Authentication at a client site.  We are very close to rolling out the product but need a way to get several hundred users imported from AD.  I know that they will automatcially be added when they visit the site - but this does me no good as I need to add user-level permissions to various areas of the site BEFORE rollout.  Surely there must be a way to get all users pulled in BEFORE we go live.  Any ideas?

I would go into Active Directory Users and Computers on the server and export the users to a CSV file and then use one of the import utilities from Snowcovered to pull them in.

I actually have a 3rd party module that can imprt from AD - but it will not pull in the passwords - it generates them randomly upon import.  But then, since DNN authenticates against AD I am beginning to wonder if any PW will do for the DNN user.  This is the test I will be running later this morning.  Sound right to you?

That sounds good, it will save you a step.  Is this something you got from Snowcovered?  I would be interested in knowing which module it is.

DNNMasters - User Import Manager.  It is on Snowcovered, but I bought directly from vendor as it was cheaper.
