I'm using IIS 7.5. I have a number of DNN sites on the same machine running under IIS 7.5. The only difference on the site giving me DB trouble is SQL Server 2008 R2. I have all the same config settings. I've created the DB using the same folder as my other apps. The only difference is R2.

Correct. I'm using IIS 7.5. Looks like I need to do a little reading up on this.

Thanks!!!

I found the solution from the following thread:

In summary, I added the Network Service account as a login to the server instance, then assigned the network service login as a dbo on the database.

I'm having a similar problem, but I'm using SQL Server Express 2008. I created the database called DotNteNuke in SQL Server Management Studio, and I have no trouble accessing it from Management Studio. But as I'm going through the Typical Install: Configure Database Connection, I get a "Sql login failed" message. I'm running Vista; my ...\Website\ permissions give NETWORK SERVICE full control. Thanks! Any help will be appreciated.

Check if the Network Service account has permissions to log into SQL Server. If not, create a login and set the permissions to the database for the account. In my situation, even though the proper permissions were given to the folder structure of the DNN install, the Network Service account couldn't login into the database.
