Hello!

I have the Forum Module installed on a client site and there is an issue where a particular forum/group will disappear and reappear at random. The particular forum/group is a private forum.

I've recently installed the "Latest Post" extension on the home page and very soon afterwards the phenomenom started to happen :)

All the public forums are fine!

Any thoughts?

DNN Version: 5.1.4
Forum Version: 4.5.3
Latest Posts Version: 1.3.0

Thank you in advance for any and all help.

Funny enough, i'm having similar problems since i installed "Recent Entries". Not my groups are disappearing but some areas in the admin-section.

Solution: log in as Host, go to host settings - preformance  and clear the cache.

Everything is there again.

I also set the Cache Provider for the forum and the recent post modul to Not specified but this brought nothing positive.

Every two or three days i have to clear the cache as host, and everything is fine.

The problem actually lies with the latest posts trying to cache things (if it is the one I wrote on www.dnnforums.com). It is caching data for all public forums, but excluding private ones. This is something I will have to address there, not in the forum module itself.

Hello Chris!

Yes, it is the recent posts module that is throwing off everything. I've uninstalled it and everything is fine and the users are happy again :)

I've created a post on the dnnforums.com site in regards to this issue.

Thanks,
Herb
