Upgraded from 4.9.5. to 5.4.3 and beginning to regret it.

Now I can't find the module friendly name fields.
The module selector is showing friendly names only for modules that had been named prior to the upgrade.

I need to rename all the modules I've since upgraded to DNN5 versions, but the friendly name option seems to have vanished... anyone?

Regards
Rob

Host -> Module Definitions -> [Edit Module] -> Package Settings -> Friendly Name... Hope this helps...

Hi Alex.. you had me relieved for a moment, but no, there's nothing to edit there. It's just displaying the friendly name, not letting it be changed as it was in the past. There's a Friendly Name field in the Module definitions section of the same page, but changing that has no effect on the actual friendly name. Not sure what purpose that field serves. Friendly names are vital for anyone who has created and documented a logical and useful workflow for normal people using DNN. Using developer-given module names is simply a non-starter. Surely this hasn't been dropped? I'll put a ticket in Gemini shortly. Regards, Rob

Thanks Robax - Works for me on a fresh install (you did scroll down your page?). Appears to be an upgrade issue, so we would need clear steps to reproduce this issue from a clean upgrade (could be a number of factors involved).

Hi Alex,

Have a look at the screenshot here:
http://thumbsnap.com/f/EeZ8GSiY

Do you have an editable field that I don't have?

The Friendly Name field near the top of the screenshot only affects the field directly above. It doesn't affect the name displayed in the Package Settings section below, nor what is in the Controlbar/Ribbonbar dropdown.

You can see that the Friendly name field neat the top displays "Text/HTML" whilst lower down it is displayed as just "HTML".

Let me know if your has something different here.
Rob
